# AI Readiness Check

> Fifteen yes/no questions across operations, data, systems, people and governance. A score per area and the first fix for the weakest two. Two minutes.

The AI Readiness Check is a two-minute self-assessment for leadership teams. Fifteen yes/no questions, three in each of the five areas an AI readiness assessment covers, return a score out of fifteen and the first fix for the two weakest areas. It is a starting point; a full assessment is the decision.

- 15 questions

- 5 areas

## Fifteen questions, three per area.

### 01 Operations

Where work waits, and which steps are reading, checking, matching or chasing.

- Can leadership name the three recurring workflows that consume the most people-hours?

- For at least one of them, is there a number leadership would accept as proof that AI improved it?

- Have the people who run that workflow been asked where the work waits?

### 02 Data

Whether the data the use cases need exists, is current, is accessible and is trusted.

- Does the data that workflow needs exist in a system of record, rather than only in spreadsheets?

- Is it current, with a known process for keeping it current?

- Can it be reached through an API or a warehouse, rather than only through screens?

### 03 Systems

Which core systems hold it and whether an agent can read from and write to them.

- Do the core systems involved (ERP, CRM, ticketing) expose APIs that an agent could read from and write to?

- Is there a named owner for each of those systems who can grant access within a week?

- Is there a cloud environment the company controls where a solution could run?

### 04 People

Who would own each use case and who would review the agent’s work.

- Is there one named person who would own the workflow and review the agent's work?

- Does the engineering or IT team have capacity for new work in the next quarter?

- Do any teams already use AI tools for whole pieces of work, rather than for emails and summaries?

### 05 Governance

What data may be used where, who approves a new use, which rules apply.

- Is there a written rule on which company data may be sent to which AI provider?

- Is there a known approver for a new AI use, and does approval take under a month?

- Does the company know which AI rules apply where it operates, and the risk level of likely use cases?
