Twistag is an AI, data and software agency in Lisbon, Portugal. We design and ship production AI agents, AI-ready data platforms and AI-native products. We work with start-ups, scale-ups and enterprises across Europe, the UK and the US. Founded in 2016.
Twistag is 25+ senior engineers, designers and AI specialists. Most have eight or more years in their discipline. A typical engagement runs with one or two forward-deployed engineers. A forward-deployed engineer works inside your systems and your team, not from a separate agency backlog, with AI tooling doing the heavy lifting alongside them. Larger programmes scale to a squad of 3 to 8. The people you meet are the people who build.
Since day one. Data integrations, BI tools, recommendation engines and machine learning have been part of what we do since inception. Production LLM and agentic AI work since 2023. More than thirty AI agents in production and counting, from internal workflow automation to customer-facing features.

Twistag is based in Lisbon, Portugal. We work remote-first with clients across Europe, the UK and the United States, and we travel for kickoffs and key milestones. Lisbon sits inside the UK and EU working day and overlaps the US morning.

No. Twistag works with companies at any stage. If your data is scattered and unmodelled, the first phase is data work rather than agent work. We will tell you that before you commit, not after.
Twistag embeds, and we work inside your own infrastructure — your repository, your CI, your cloud accounts, your environments. Shared backlog, shared standups, shared definition-of-done. We can run the whole product or add people to squads you already have, and we always say which mode we are in.
Yes — build, train, transfer is one of our four operating principles. We pair with your engineers while we build, document the system, and run walkthroughs before handover. The goal is a team that can run the product without us.
